Settings to improve PageSpeed Insights

Hi there,

I bought Squash to help out with some low PageSpeed Insights scores around image optimization on a few WordPress installs. I’m wondering if there are known settings that will squash images sufficiently enough to please the Google overlords.

I’m using JPG quality 65 and that doesn’t appear to be enough. Other image optimizers seem to do the job with their default settings, so I’m hoping somebody can help me use Squash so I can keep supporting quality, non-subscription-based software.

Try lowering the compression to something around 55% or 60%.

You could also try reducing the physical size of the photo (width x height) in a graphics app like Pixelmator.

Hope that helps!
