As I begin to understand how the CMS works, I don’t know why my text isn’t displaying the formatting from the .md file.

When I use #, ##, ###, \*\*, etc., the text appears as plain text in my Elements “text” component, which is probably “normal” behavior.

Therefore, I’m not benefiting from the formatting. Am I missing a step?

Thanks 🙂

The CMS and Text Components are two different things.

There are actually four different “text” options in Elements: CMS Markdown, Markdown Component, Text, and Typography. Each is treated differently.

Oh ? I must have missed that chapter in the wonderful “CMS Elements” book! 🙂

My book only covers CMS Markdown, not the other three. If you want to work in Markdown, you should use CMS Markdown for your blog-type files, and the Markdown component in your other pages that have longer bits of text.
