When I check for updates Elements says, Update Error! Elements can’t be updated if it’s running from the location it was downloaded to. How do I fix that?

Make sure Elements is in your Applications folder and you are running it from there.

Yup, move Elements to your Applications folder and the updater should work just fine 👍

FYI: You can always [download the latest build of Elements using this link](http://realmacsoftware.com/download/elements/).

I am also getting this update error message even though I have Elements in my Applications folder.
How can I fix this?

Strange, a restart might do the trick, but failing that you can always [use this link to download the latest version](http://realmacsoftware.com/download/elements/). Once downloaded, copy it over to your applications folder and overwrite the older version.

Thanks Dan, I restarted my Mac and the error message is still there, so I am not sure what else I can do?

Also your download link doesn’t appear to be working.

I’ve tested the link and it works just fine, I think there must be an issue on your network.

Can you try using a different browser or network?

Yes Tommy, it’s the same for me, the link works in Safari but not with Chrome.
