Waiting in hope of tables implementation

I would be very grateful Dan :+1:

Hi @DazFisher

Okay… so I spent 20 minutes and built a very simply custom table component, it’s an early proof-of-concept really, but it wouldn’t take long to add a few more styling options.

Watch the video below and check out the project, then let me know what you think

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Open Project in Elements (required Elements 2.0 or newer).

Wow!

Thanks so much Dan, I consider I’m a novice but happy to tinker with it. I think this could work just fine.

Oh I just had another idea that we could apply the same principle to columns :exploding_head:

I think we might have to build an official table component soon…

I know it’s been a popular request and I’m sure many would love it, but I also know you are all doing so much right now that you have to prioritise.

I can only thank you for your continued support.

@dan now collections are suped up, I created in collections, great you can add more that one collection, just adding switches to target various cells rows cols and width controls, able to scroll when to small, if you building a table component would like all of these options and more

I can’t quite figure out what you’re trying to show in that video, would be helpful if you recorded some audio/voice over with it maybe?

Is there a maximum number of rows and columns? Would this be manual or importable option?

Will be “unlimited” in the official built-in component, and we don’t currently have plans for an import function (I’m not sure how that would work).

@dan I have a mic now, I used collections to create the table, both rows and columns, little code 29 or so lines and able to target using nth, just about to add switches and controls, you souped up collections really cool, lots of options now

Just on audio

I introduced someone to Elements who wanted me to build their website, I convinced them to check out Elements, not a good idea, last 2.5 months I have spent hours talking and texting them from no idea to being able to start using on their own. I have created videos with audio for them, delete once they get it though.I have just been recoding straight from the top of my head, no script or thought. So need to practice some more

The reason I asked about import was the guy who originally posted has “football” type leagues which change weekly so he’d have to change the “ladder” each week manually. Wouldn’t it be lovely to have a csv import function? I’ve no idea how that would work either!:rofl:

Steve great well done!

Just a thought if it’s straight off the top of your head write script there and get a mirror!:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

import has been discussed on the forum, sure a few working already, think I even did something

if something takes more than 30 mins at a time I get frustrated, I just did a recording that lasted 20 mins with audio, no thought until I started. The friend worked his way through it, feedback is ramble and repeat

Well done! I see a few things from early beta day posts that are now part and parcel of the package as things are added regularly maybe a way of import ing will be soon?

Dan just did a tease post about something coming next week on my PDF thread but also see on another post developers getting twitchy about not having a method of selling their wares.
