Yuzuul Widgets - anyone got this email?

That was one I asked for, but I haven’t gotten around to trying it yet. I’ve got other design issues I’m grappling with at the moment.

Well, I just tried it on my current sites, and it works, though I’m not yet 100% sure what to do about formatting, as it has a lot of hard-coding in it, like this:

<style>
.yz-rss-widget {
    font-family: 'Inter', ui-sans-serif, system-ui, -apple-system, Segoe UI, sans-serif;
    border: 1px solid #d7dfea;
    border-radius: 14px;
    background: var(--yz-rss-panel);
    padding: 14px;
    display: grid;
    gap: 10px;
}

What that means is that you lose the Elements control of font/size/etc., but since this would be a widget in a larger page, I could probably do the hard coded substitutions to match my site style. I suppose I could ask Claude to figure out how to sub-in Elements styling, but again, I’m a little busy at the moment, so don’t have the time to dive deeper right now.

I just had a back-and-forth email conversation with Michael. This new RSS widget was in direct response to my request yesterday, so still needs some work. I pointed him at the styling issue, and he’s already made one change, perhaps we’ll get more.

Michael seems eager to make things people ask for, so perhaps it’s worth buying the basic widget package and start asking ;~).

And @dan, he says hi and promises to come look at the forum soon.

So he’s keen to add widgets? I think thats really good as his old RW stuff I used to use was really good!

Yes. He seemed quite excited that I reached out to him to ask for something, and responded within a day with something that was usable, though not perfect. To quote him: “I’m currently enjoying adding customisations as I want to give people what they want to use. It’s good to feel useful around here.”

Thom that sounds really positive and hopefully he will “replicate” some of his excellent products - now that would be very welcome! THANKS!
