Hi I’m Russ Conte, a long time RapidWeaver user and fan and supporter.

Like many other people here my interests range all over the place. A few quick examples: I’m a lifelong musician and can play quite a few (>24) musical instruments, I’ve been unbelievably fortunate to be part of some excellent teams and groups, such as the Chicago Apple User Group (I’m the president, but it’s the whole group that makes everything worth while), and I’ve been a recruiter for 20+ years helping people in the Chicago area get good jobs. I’ve been able to use RapidWeaver to design a few websites, and I’m always amazed how well they turn out.

Some of my newer endeavors include designing an employee survey that coordinates with a MySQL database. The website portion of the survey is built using Rapidweaver (with high praise to FormLoom4 for making it easy to do really good work), and the MySQL database is built by hand using PHPMyAdmin on a Linux server hosted by MacHighway. (by the way, I find MacHighway to be an excellent service, and they have zero carbon footprint - everything is wind powered!)

A few other odds and ends - I learned Spanish as an adult and have been able to help people get jobs using Spanish, I’ve climbed to the top of a mountain in Colorado, gone whitewater rafting quite a few times, assisted in the piloting of a sailplane, and my favorite sport is snowboarding.

That’s a bit about me and what I’ve enjoyed doing. I look forward to sharing much more, and learning what others have to share.
