My experience is that Elements 1.2.1 will not publish files unless I have the homepage as the current page in the editor. Is this only me, or have others noticed this?
Hi @refsvik,
We’re not aware of anyone else with this issue and I’ve been unable to reproduce it here. Would you be able to upload your project to Elements Cloud and send me the link so I can take a look?
Cheers
Happy to share, @tpbradley. But this is a 1,6GB project. Not sure if the best way to do this is to recreate the blogging thing in a new small project, or to create a downscaled project. Not sure what can break in and create additional problems in a downscale. Happy to receive advice on how to proceed.
Best regards,
Kjell Are
Wow, that is a whopper!
Would you be able to share it using https://wetransfer.com sending it to forumsupport@realmacsoftware.com or pasting the link here.
Cheers
Have sent an email.
Best,
Kjell Are
Thanks for sending the project to us, it has to be one of the largest I’ve ever seen!
I’ve tried publishing while viewing the pages shown in your screenshots and haven’t been able to reproduce the issue yet.
When you have the “posts_page” page selected and publish, I can see in the screenshot that you have an empty export progress window. Are you always able to reproduce this, and what happens if you leave it for a while, does it eventually move on?
Also, do you store the project on iCloud or elsewhere on your Mac?
Cheers
Hi Tom. Thank you for looking through my project. It never did strike me as particularly large, but I guess you could say that it is, at 6067 files in total.
The publishing issue is not showing up here either this morning. There is however a difference in the time it takes to display information in the publishing dialogue. When standing on the home page, publishing information shows up immediately. But when standing in my posts-page or any other page, it takes a bit of time. That may have been the problem all along. Me not waiting enough for information to show up, being used to its immediate appearance usually? And that the size of the site has something to do with the lag?
I store the project locally on my ssd drive on my MacBook Pro M3 all the time. Should not be a storage or hardware-related reason here.
Best regards,
Kjell Are
An update here @tpbradley . Created two new pages today, and this happened when pressing publish:
I aborted this empty window after around 60 seconds.
When making the homepage the active page, publishing goes through immediately.
