“A problem repeatedly occurred” issue on iPhone

Hello,

I get this message on an i-Phone 17 Pro (IOS 26.5.2) with one page of a website which I recently launched:
“A problem repeatedly occured”
The page doesn’t show up on the i-Phone: Sanat Ensemble ⎪ Ensemble . Neither with Safari nor with Chrome. All other pages on the same website work fine, even the homepage with a video background.

On top: the “problem” page works fine on an i-Pad or Macbook with Safari or other browsers.

Did anybody have a similar issue? Can anybody help me further?

Best regards,

Nedim

It looks like it’s something to do with all the GSAP animations you have on the page, the iPhone is not as powerful as a desktop computer and you still need to optimise for it.

Basically iOS Safari is running out of rendering/compositing resources, then killing/reloading the tab. Perhaps @Invisigoth, the creator of Motion Forge can offer some advice on this

As a test, you can disable all the GSAP animations on the page, and then retest on iPhone to see if it loads properly.

Hi Dan,
I got rid of the GSAP animations from Motion Forge. Unfortunately it still doesn’t load.

I use the Article Modal by 1LD (One Litte Design). Could that possibly cause it? It would mean changing all the modals to standard. Lot’s of work :frowning:

The images themselves are all compressed. Most are under 150 K, a few under 300 K.

This works fine on my iPhone SE. @1LittleDesigner

Does this work on your iPhone? If that’s the case, that’s incredible. Because it really doesn’t work on mine. As I wrote above, it works on the iPad.

If you mean the pop-up (down) from 1LD on your photos of people, yes.

But sometimes the page can’t load, so something is wrong. Horizontal mode doesn’t work on my iPhone.

Hey @Nedim, maybe remove all the third-party add-ons and see if it fixes the issue. It is obviously worth checking that you don’t have any extra code snippets that might be causing the issue also.

Once the page is working again, you can then slowly start to add things back and see when the issue starts to occur again.

Let me know how you get on.

Thank you, @dan, for mentioning me in your post. I appreciate you identifying the possible connection between the GSAP animations and the issue, even though the temporary fix didn’t resolve it.

@Nedim, to help you more effectively, could you please clarify the following:

  • When you disable the GSAP animations, does the problem still persist?
  • Have you tried testing the page with the Article Modal from 1LD disabled or replaced with a simpler version?
  • Is the issue only occurring on the iPhone 17 Pro with iOS 26.5.2, or does it happen on other iOS devices as well?
  • Have you checked for errors in the browser console (Safari on iPhone) when the page fails to load?
  • The page works fine on iPad and MacBook, so the issue seems to be device-resource related on iOS.

Thanks in advance for providing those extra details, so I can offer you more targeted assistance.

Hello Dan, Hello Invisigoth, Hello Per,

after several tries, I found a solution which seems to work for all iOS devices (at least those here at home, including old an new iPhones and iPads).

The GSAP animations don’t seem to be the problem.

I changed the Modals from 1LD to the standard ones included in Elements and now everything works.

So there must be something wrong with the Article Modal or the way I configured it.

I updated the page. It works on all devices. So I will keep it like that. I will update the modal content of the 30-odd team members tomorrow.

Hi Nedim,
I’m really glad you found a working solution for all iOS devices!

Thanks for updating the page and sharing the link. I took a look at the SCHAUSPIEL section on Sanat Ensemble ⎪ Ensemble and noticed that Nedim Hazar with the title AUTOR, LEITUNG appears twice.

Could you please check that?

I’m here if you need any help.

Thank you for your note Chris.

At present I am updating the content of each and every modal. I updated the second Nedim trigger already.

I might come back on your offer concerning help when I’m onto another website which requires lots of animation.

BEst

Nedim

So did you change the direction from down to left/right and it solved the problem on iPhone? Or are you only using the Elements Modal now for all devices?
