Am I missing something but is there somewhere I can add bullet points to my text? TIA. Just added typography box, right clicked and BINGO there it is.
I have right clicked on the text of a Typography component and I cannot see a way to create bullets or numbered lists. Could anyone provide instructions on how to do so?
You can’t create lists in the Typography component. That’s been an oft-asked for change since forever, but RM hasn’t gotten around to adding that yet.
However, if you’re using the CMS for articles, which is probably the preferred method at the moment, you can use - at the start of a line for a list item. Standard Markdown.
One of the things that Elements is revealing (as are other Web design platforms), is that the way things are done on the Web these days is using a lot of powerful tools to make things more responsive and truly designed. The old HTML way is now akin to the crude cut and paste way we used to do physical layout for newspapers and magazines pre-Pagemaker. Continue to use that at your own risk, as if you get responsiveness wrong in any way now Google will penalize you.
guys, read this
Well, call me a bit old-fashioned, but I still really appreciate the basics — things like undo/redo on text, simple list formatting, and being able to use Markdown when needed. Those small conveniences make a big difference in day-to-day workflow, and not everyone wants to jump into the CMS or use extra workarounds for simple text tasks.
I really do like Elements and I’m excited to see where it goes, but I’m hoping some of these core features make their way in soon. With a few refinements, it will feel much closer to being “primetime ready.” Looking forward to the future updates!
I don’t disagree with you. I’ve been on Dan and team since the beginning about handling text better. To your list (undo, lists, Markdown) I’d add strikethrough and embedded images as key missing text attributes.
There’s a difference between a Web site designer and a Web site maintainer/content producer: the designer works with where blobs of things go, which Elements does better than anything on the market AFAIC, while the content producer deals with what’s in the blobs, particularly text blobs with related images.
The problem I’ve had for a long time now (certainly since 1.0) is that I can design sites just fine, but I can’t actually deploy them because there are critical elements missing.
