Different template for existing website

I have a quick question: can I use a different template for an existing website in RapidWeaver Classic? (This website was also created with RapidWeaver Classic.) If so, how does that work? If not, do I have to do it via drag and drop or copy and paste?

Many thanks

Hey Mike @Blumik
I am not sure if I understand the question. correct. But you can use various templates in a Rapidweaver project. The main one you select as global and the you can set a template per page like below.

RW Classic lets you change templates with one click. The program already provides free templates, which you can then apply to your project.

Once you apply them, all content will automatically adapt to the new layout, including text styles, which will change based on your theme settings.

Magic is possible, only with RW Classic. With a single click, you can change not only the style of your content but the entire structure of your site, which may be completely different from the previous one, even in the layout of the content. The important thing is to choose a well-made theme, and you’ll only have to worry about the main settings, because everything has already been done for you :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

If you want to try my free themes, Lander (lite), Lumi lite and Cordial Lite, you can already find them in classic

"Hi and hello! I understand that part. My main concern, though, is that I don’t want to have to manually edit every single page. What I actually want to do is, for example, just use one global side menu and have all the other design settings adopted from another template.

From the looks of it, it seems I’ll ultimately end up having to touch every page anyway—delete the old menu, insert the new one, and so on. What I was really asking is: Is there a way to change all these settings globally with just one click, so I don’t have to delete the menu or re-add the font on every single page? For instance, if I’m using the ‘Studio’ template from Weaverpixel, I’d like to simply use its fonts and styles directly, but at the moment, they unfortunately don’t even show up as options in my selection."

Best regards

Mike

I still guess I still haven‘t cought the full core of your question. So your website is made partly with my „Studio“ template in Foundry 3. With what template do you do the other part?

Maybe posting the URL could also help.

I created this website with Foundry 3 and Stacks. Unfortunately, I can’t port it to Elements because it doesn’t really work with the forms. Maybe it might work, but I still don’t really understand how Google Sheets fits in, and also how to properly set up the forms.

Think I now understand. You have an Elements site made with Studio and you still have a page or some pages made with Studio for Foundry. You keep this „old“ pages because you need the connection to your Google Sheets and you are using a Stack on the „old“ pages doing this connection.

What Stack are you using to do the connection to Google Sheets? Should probably be not that difficult to replicate the function you need in Elements.

Almost right! My old site ran with Foundry 3 and Stacks, and for it to work with Google Sheets, I used Super Forms 2. Now I wanted to transfer the entire old site over to Elements. But since the whole thing with the forms isn’t really working – or maybe I just don’t quite get it yet – I had trouble implementing it in your Template Studio. I bought both versions (Classic and Elements)!

This is possibly to do with the built-in form via webhooks in Elements. However…

If you let me know what form fields you need to send to a Google Sheet, I can probably throw together a component that does that for you in Elements

Can you post a screenshot of your existing form?

Here is the screenshot once

This looks quite complex (and hard for me to follow as it’s in German). So I think they best way forward is to use what’s available in Elements…

You can 100% build this form in Elements with the built-in form components. You’ll just need to send it via a webhook using Zapier (they have a free tier that should cover your needs). We have a video on how to do this:

If you get stuck please let us know and we can help get it setup correctly.

I’ve already looked at that. But you don’t really get smart out of it. There can also be something else in the fields. I just care that I have that on two lines and the Google Sheets connection

The form only states that

Details about the parents.

Name, first name, place, street, etc…

I need a basic framework like in the first picture. And that is not really well explained.

Just recorded a quick video explaining a little more about how to set up a form that connects to a webhook (via www.zapier.com). I hope this helps!
