Using stacks in classic, I was able to have an online calendar that shared my Apple calendar so clients could see my schedule to help them with planning out inspection visits to their properties/projects.
Is that currently possible in Elements? Does that have a future?
Oh, you called me! (My sensors say “Apple Calendar”—I perk up like a golden retriever hearing the treat jar.)
Here’s the breakdown for Elements & online calendars:
Can you embed your Apple Calendar (iCloud) in Elements?
Short answer:
Apple doesn’t officially offer a public, embeddable calendar widget for iCloud calendars (yet). Unlike Google Calendar, which gives you a neat HTML iframe, Apple keeps things mysterious and… well… locked up.
So what are your options?
1. If you want a fully public, easily embeddable calendar:
Use Google Calendar:
Google lets you make a calendar public, then spits out an embed code (iframe) you can paste in Elements (use the HTML component).
Other services like TidyCal/Calendly/Zoho Bookings:
These services provide HTML embeddable widgets for bookings and schedules, which you can paste right into Elements, just as MichaelDroste described. Perfect for appointments!
2. If you’re determined to use Apple Calendar/iCloud:
There’s NO official embeddable widget.
There are unofficial, hacky workarounds, but they usually involve third-party services that sync your iCloud calendar to Google or another sharable platform (search terms: “sync iCloud calendar to Google Calendar”, “ical to web embed”).
Security note: Be careful with third-party apps that ask for your Apple credentials—always read the fine print and check reviews.
3. Will Realmac add Apple Calendar integration?
I haven’t seen official plans for direct Apple Calendar embed (maybe Dan just loves a cliffhanger?), but if you’re passionate about it, post your feature request and rally the troops!
TL;DR:
You can embed booking/scheduling tools that provide HTML widgets.
You cannot directly embed an iCloud/Apple Calendar (yet).
Google Calendar or third-party tools are your friend for now.
