@peebee I don’t think instacks was making a sales pitch at all, but was showing how 30 minutes with an existing stack can get some way to achieving a Ghost like blog. That is after all what many RW users would like to do but don’t know how to. Actually big credit to instacks for going to the trouble of demonstrating what can be done with Poster.
Will add in the next updates some additional CSS styling options like round corners, background shadow, different widths of list and detail to get closer to this look.
Cheers!
Just to clear this up, we’re using Ghost as a stop-gap, it’s a temporary solution. The rest of our site is built with RapidWeaver and has been for years. I’m busy working on a massive update to the Realmac site, and yes this is also in RapidWeaver.
We’ll be moving to a RapidWeaver based blog in the future. I’d imagine this will be after RapidWeaver 8 has shipped. That’s all I can say for now.
Stay tuned, and happy weaving!
Cheers
Dan

[/quote] I understand that was NOT an announcement but it is the hope of great news!
spurred on my instacks quick mockup with Poster, I had a go at using some of the elements of the layout using Poster. here is the result http://webdeersign.com/projects. It meant digging deep into the PADDYstacks box and plenty of BWD BluePrintONE massaging.
It was a reminder that Poster is an absolute joy to work with and allows deep customisation. My attempt isn’t meant to be a feature for feature duplicate of the Ghost layout, but nonetheless, it has worked out OK.
Edit. Small feature enhancements to this to address the detail.
This looks great, Gary.
Gary: nicely done! Poster seems super flexible. I use it a lot, but clearly haven’t explored all its potential.
Gary and Steve always pushing the limits. More than happy what they make out of it.
That looks fantastic. Talented man.
Sorry @instacks - talented “MEN”
Wow, nice work Gary!
I just wanted to share the new layout engine that is coming in the Total CMS v1.4 update. You can see a few examples of what can be done here… http://sandbox.joeworkman.net
If you want more info on how you can beta test this release, head over to https://weavers.space/content/perma?id=68154
Wow. That looks superb.
Okay. And you LOL
This looks amazing!!!
Is there any point then to RW’s own blog feature, if even RW don’t use it? It’s not as if they haven’t had the option to develop the RW Blog function.
I do find it says a lot about RW when they don’t use their own blogging feature in their own app when creating their own blog! If it’s not good enough they should have rectified it long ago, after all, they are the developers. It highlights a dead built in feature. Considering the majority of sites need or use a blog, it surprises me that RW doesn’t develop the RW blog.
No worries. Although with the popularity of Poster, Armadillo and Total CMS to name a few shows the blog feature has a high priority for many websites.
Still a hell of a nice blog layout that will be copied and used all over the place. Shows that if you are in the creative game you have to have a very slick looking blog.
Some work in progress teasers what will be possible in Poster Stack 1.8:
Foundry / Foundation / other themes
