BUG In built in gallery elements 5 arrow problem

I have a problem with arrows not showing in smaller sizes but the X icon is showing. I have tried a test gallery with 500 pixel JPEG images and a second test with 200pixel images. in each case when I view this in the browser (safari) the overlay and arrows are correct until I reduce the browser window to 50% of the screen or less. The X remains but the arrow icons do not show. I have tried changing the icon background to dark but they still do not show. Please help.

Thanks for the prompt response. Understood about swiping. Nothing in documentation that I could find to suggest this. Different to classic.
