I only put a a height on the flex as there is no height until content is added, but you could use the flex height to increase the length of the time line (right side of first container) to exceed content
I added an svg, but this is just a flex the svg could have not been inserted or inserted in either side
just a tip a mobile page has a minimum width
to increase the timeline duplicate the entire container straight under, they then join
