I am migrating from RW to Elements. On my RW site, I was able to have a menu slide out from the side. On the top of my page, the Navigation just has my company name and the menu “hamburger” and when you click the “hamburger” the menu slides in from the side. Can I do this in Elements? If so, is there a video tutorial for it? Thanks.
Yes, it is definitely possible. Below is an example of one I have done using a combination of a modal and the tree component. You could also probably use the Top Page component, but for my needs, the Tree component works perfectly.
a sidemenu in Elements is possible. There are two templates on the Marketplace what are made with a sidemenu. The one is my Studio and the other one is Holos by 1LD. Holos is free, so you can have a look how it is done.
And another piece of self advertisement
. In the fleXon design library there are eight sidebar designs included. You can have a look at the sidebars here FleXon
(Edit)
Just saw that you wrote slide menu and I read side menu ![]()
But also fo a slide menu you can have a look at Coming Soon No 2. This Theme has slide menus integrated in the buttons. It‘s also free, so you can have a look how it is done
He meant a side menu that slides out - a modal type no doubt?
@handshaper Thank you so much! I’m really new to Elements - are there instructions on “modal” and “tree” in the manual or is there a video tutorial?
@WeaverPixel thank you so much. Yeah I had a template that was from Elixir that has a beautiful slide out (not a “side menu”) that you can see here . I’ll check out the templates you suggest and see if I can sort out something similar. I am hoping Elements is more stable than RW was - in the past I did have issues with certain stacks/templates not working well together. I really miss the RapidweaverClassroom site - he was so good at going through each item one at a time to walk you through how they all work as their own thing.
Hi @mintyfreshsmile Kevin, Elements is really very stable in what it offers. You will be not disappointed. It was the biggest advantage of RW/Stacks that you had such a big offering in various Stacks but at the same time it was also the biggest disadvantage as it caused sometimes problems between Stack of different developers.
Coming to your s(l)ide menu question. I have something available in a very rough early development for my fleXon library. It is probably not exactly what you have asked for but I will finish it the next two weeks (hopefully). If you can wait, I will offer it here in the forum for free and integrate it with some variations in fleXon.
