Hi,
I’ve built my first site in about 8 years using the Offroad theme in Classic.
The background picture is one of a beach kind of scene.
How can I change the photo without messing things up?
I presume it would be in page styles, but can’t find where to change background image.
There’s not a way to change the background image in the theme settings, but ready to get your hands dirty?
Cancel that, background and banner aren’t really synonymous, but for the Offoad theme you can just drop an image into the banner dropzone and it will replace the theme’s background image. Left the hard way up in case you wanted to know. 
Easy Way
And there you go
Hard way, but interesting
Duplicate the Offroad theme
Select the duplicated version and select “Show In Finder”
Replace the default fallback.jpeg image
There’s your new background image
