Card Flip: unexpected behaviour on mobile?

I’m finding some unexpected behaviour with the paid Card Flip assets.

On my site, both sides of my cards are images.

On mobile (I’m on iPhone), when I tap a card, it flips to the back side, and then straight back to the front again.

If I tap and hold, it does the iPhone thing of separating out the image for download; once I tap out of that, then the card is correctly displaying the back of the card.

But if I tap and scroll slightly before releasing, then the card correctly stays displaying the reverse side.

This is all fine on laptop, btw – click to flip, and then click to flip again.

I’m not seeing anything in the options that might explain what’s happening, so I’m assuming it’s code-side. But it’s so obvious to me that I’m surprised that there aren’t any threads about it already, which brings me back to thinking I’m doing something wrong.

(there is one other thread about the Card Flip asset; going to their linked site on mobile, it’s acting oddly, but a different sort of oddly to mine)

Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear you’re having issues, we’ll take a look at this and get it fixed up ASAP for you.

Do you happen to have a demo project you could share via Elements Cloud that shows the issues? This would help speed up the fix

Thanks for a swift response. I haven’t dug into Cloud yet (only started using Elements a few days ago), but I’ll see if I can get something sorted tomorrow. End of day for me, and brain is frazzled.

Ah thank you – I guess that must be a dark mode / light mode thing. Hadn’t really realised I’d need to look into it as it’s only appeared the other way around (with nice readable dark text) my end. I’ll get it sorted tomorrow!

Just checked on my iPad, and… I’m seeing the same behaviour as on my iPhone. Most odd that it’s working okay your end I’m on 26.2.1 on both.

I’m on 26.2.1 also. I click on front card and it flips t back flip on back and it goes to front - is that your set up? If so that’s what I am getting but if your trying something else then I’m not getting anything else.

Did a quick screen recording of what I’m seeing. If I tap - it flips and automatically flips back again (meaning that users can’t see the other side of the card, which is where the info about that card is). But tap and scroll – ever so slightly – and it’ll correctly stay flipped.

Strange mine is doing exactly same as you described click once rotates back to start tap and slide it opens as it should. It didn’t do this before.

Apologies for the bug! I’ve just pushed an update to Card Flip to the Elements Store. You should see the update available in Elements now.

Could you update Card Flip, republish your site, and then check everything is still working?

This update is not showing up for me. The last update I’m seeing was Dec 11.

have you tried restarting Elements? and made sure you don’t have any network blocking software running?

Tried restarting, but that had no effect. Nothing is blocking the network access, as I was able to get the Marquee PRO update no problems this morning.

Maybe I already have the update. Below is what I’m seeing in the store.

I was judging the version by the date, as Ben had pushed an update yesterday. But maybe the date never got updated.

Yes, you have the latest Card Flip see the v1 (4) on the right hand side. The date on the left is your purchase date.

You can go to the Card Flip in the store to see the release note (scroll to the bottom).

We’ll be making sure this is all more obvious in the future
