Changing Logo Design - Thoughts?

Here is the original logo

Music…..

Here is second revision:

Here is third revision:

Which do you like?
Any particular reason you prefer it?

I did the original in the 1990’s on illustrator….
Time has some for a fresh start

I sell music- tracks, books, CDs etc…

Hi @MichaelDroste ,

I am not a logo expert, but from the above ones I would chose the second. But do I find it ideal? No. It has the focus on Windy and Town and a bit of Music. But at the end you want to sell music stuff and not wind or towns.

I would create a 4th version focusing on music elements with a bit of wind and town.

Just my few cents

Thanx for the reply…

These images look cool, I am not a graphic designer but the designer who does my logos always tells me a logo should tell your story, and if it contains words, if you were to remove the words would what is left sell your brand? I do not know if Windy Town means something over in USA? But I showed my wife who’s impartial and asked her what is this company selling and her first response was “Wind Turbines” or “Storm fences”.

My suggestions to go back to basics, you sell music in different formats so you logo needs to suggest that. If Windy City is your brand and you want to include that in logo put “by Windy City under logo.

Thank you for your response…

I was trying to go for minimalism

Like Apple or Nike etc….

The third one has a digital wave form
Literally music!

Was hoping people would pick the third one…

If you take away the words as Paul suggested- you have a digital waveform or music…

:musical_note: there is always the old music note ….

Then colors: navy windy grounds the mark
Teal color of waveform often used in DAWs
Green town often used for bar metering in music programs

just got the graphic design files - might tweak the waveform and make it a little smaller…

very happy

Much more balanced when the waveform is smaller…

how about making the wave from piano keyboard not just lines. that might add focus to the music aspect.

Great idea!! Great minds…. That was a first attempt in the 1980”s

Back then when you hired a designer they gave you a drawing…

Hi Michael @MichaelDroste

looking at your logo is still having the core issue (from my point of view) that the words “Windy Town” does not tell people that you are selling music. I understand after your explanations that the curves should show a waveform and after the explanation I understood it

I thought a bit about that and came to the conclusion that you need an extra Tagline saying explicit what you are doing. I made a short example.

Very nice of you to make a prototype! Looks very good

Used to have windy town records trademarked

Then went to just windy town

Thank you for taking the time to make your logo - that was really kind of you..

Your right… logos should not have to be explained…

Still perhaps needs to evolve more…

Just for fun here was the original mark

Tried trimming and time correcting - still a slight stutter in the loop
