We’re looking into it now and will get it fixed 
@Pegasus, We just shipped Classic 9.6.1 and it contains a sitemap fix for this issue, give it awhile and let us know how you get on!
This fix will also be available in the next build of Elements

Phew, glad that’s sorted.
I am not sure, but since I have updated Classic to 9.6 it gives an error during publishing…
