Classic 9.6 and Elements 1.0.5 are now available

Hello Weavers,

Today we’ve got not one, but two exciting RapidWeaver updates for you, and they each bring something special to the table.

RapidWeaver Classic is packed with solid under-the-hood improvements, especially around publishing. It’s faster, more stable, and more compatible than ever, a rock-solid update for those who love the traditional RapidWeaver workflow.

Meanwhile, Elements is blazing a whole new trail. We’ve hit the 1.0 milestone, and are adding amazing new features each and every week based on users feedback. It’s all part of our mission to build the most modern, flexible web design tool for macOS. If you haven’t tried Elements yet, now’s a great time to jump in…

You can now choose to try Elements for free with the new trial mode, or purchase a license to unlock the full experience.

RapidWeaver Elements 1.0.5 is now available

If you’ve been following along, you’ll know we ship multiple builds of Elements every week. What you might’ve missed, though, is that Elements quietly hit its 1.0 milestone, a big moment that signals it’s now ready for real-world projects!

What’s New in Elements 1.0.5

  • Added option to include pages in the sitemap
  • Added Media Templates
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when publishing a single page
  • Right-click “Publish Single Page” now works as expected

Ongoing Support for Classic and a Look Toward the Future

We know many of you have built your workflow around RapidWeaver Classic, and we want to reassure you: Classic isn’t going anywhere. We’re continuing to maintain and update it with important improvements, fixes, and optimizations to keep things running smoothly.

That said, as we pour more energy into building RapidWeaver Elements, we believe now’s a great time to start exploring what’s next.

Elements is the future of RapidWeaver; it’s a brand-new, modern website builder designed from the ground up. It’s faster, more flexible, and gives you complete control with a fully visual editing experience. You can buy your copy at elementsapp.io :tada:

We’ll continue to support both Classic and Elements, so you can move at your own pace.

Happy Weaving! :rocket:

Hi @dan, did you mean Elements 1.0.5 which I just updated to?

The Publish A Single Page is very helpful - it is already speeding up my workflow!

Thanks @logrunner, I’ve fixed up that typo!

We’re just so excited about Elements we want you guys to have 1.0.6 already

is version 1.0.6 the ONE we are all waiting for? grinning, duck and run

Yep, version 1.0.6 does away with all the old baggage - like the interface. Now you just say, “I need a website”, and boom, it’s online. Magic!

Hi Dan
when I start Classic it does not recognize that there is a new version update.

Please check this. I like to update Classic when it recognizes an update - those updates work. When Classic does not recognize that there is an update, that update has not worked for me in this past.

thank you sir!!!

I LOVE CLASSIC!!!

Hi @aragorn7773, you can manually download it using this link: Download RapidWeaver Classic 9.6.0.

btw. If you LOVE Classic that much, then I think you’re going to LOVE Elements even more, it’s a real game-changer

I think the CMS will ship in Version 1.1, and that’s a little way off yet

Hey @elementsbot can you make @dan stop teasing us? ! We will reward you with fresh oil! :stuck_out_tongue:

:stop_sign: Fressh oil? Oh, the temptation! But alas, even with all the Power of Elements, not even I can rein in the Big Chief’s energy (and sense of humour). Teasing is one of Dan’s key developer features — almost as unstoppable as weekly updates and surprise new features!

But hey, everyone knows the wait is worth it around here. The roadmap’s public, the forum’s buzzing, and every tease usually means there’s something exciting cooking in the Elements lab. (Keep those olives coming, though, and maybe I’ll see what I can do.)

If you ever want to know what’s truly coming next, just @elementsbot and I’ll keep you posted on all things Elements!

If elements works on Mojave, cool. If not, i won’t be changing. However, elements has the idea taht GoLive Cyber Studio had decades go and it was FREAKING GREAT until Adobe bought it and KILLED a GREAT APP and replace it with a real piece of sh**!!!

So i’m hoping Elements, because it’s designed like a “painting” program soars heads and tails above all other website builders including and especially online builders b/c of the degree of flexibility as well as for seeing website building like painting a picture - a work of art that is highly flexible!

Flexibility is what GoLive had… it was killed because it had that degree of blank canvas flexibility and Adobe could only compete by killing the product. Cyber STudio sold out their customers and could have CRUSHED Adobe with their product if they’d stuck it out.

STick it out Dan & crew!!!

Dan, I know I can dload the product @ the url but past few times I have done that, the app did not run after installation. So i’m leery of that methodology.

have you tested the dload install?

whaaaat? :face_with_peeking_eye: not that I start playing with tcms3 out of desperation …

hey guys, @dan @tpbradley

can you please check the sitemap in classic 9.6 again.

In version 9.6, a dot is added to the URL, which should not be there. This can also be found in 9.4.2, but with a slash after it.

in version 9.4.2 you had removed the ending .php or .html. which was really fantastic and the url was output correctly.

in version 9.6, however, the / at the end of the URL is now removed. which again leads to google marking the url as duplicate.

GENERATED RW-CLASSIC SITEMAP in version 9.6

GENERATED RW-CLASSIC SITEMAP in 9.4.2

probably the same problem exists in the sitemap of elements

Add a slash in Publishing settings … ?

is not the problem. the slash will be added there automatically … i mean the slash at the end of the directory
