So I upgraded from free to Solo so that multiple people could log into the cms on a single domain. But it wont let me.
Have I got the wrong end on the stick? I only want this for 1 domain but I want many people to login to the cms to post?
Do I really need a studio licence to do this at another $100?
Di you do upgrade and put your new licence number in? If you dont the system still thinks you’re on a lower version.
Yes I did, I sees that I have a solo licence.
As the name “Solo” suggests:
the Solo license is valid for one domain and one user.

In case I am misreading again 
the licence for the CMS is a one off payment, not an annual subscription? I know it says ‘No Subscription’ but i want to check in case that means no subscription for additional users (i.e. additional users on one domain with the Studio licence).
Having not read it properly 1st time round i want to double check.
The Studio version is a one-time payment for ONE domain and UNLIMITED users.
What happened to the annual subscription fee covers everything?
Seem the more Elements evolves the more these “new features” cost. $100 per domain!? Seriously?
One time fees are still charges outside the original subscription agreement.
Like most I’m getting extremely tired of bait and switch that inevitably comes with subscriptions.
@iamliving What exactly is your problem right now? Bursting in here and just shouting loudly into the room doesn’t really help anyone. If you’re upset, then at least explain clearly what exactly is bothering you.
Everything is already included in the normal Elements subscription — including ECMS 2.0.
If you want to use the CMS Online Editor, you simply need to purchase a one-time license for the domain where you want to use it. It’s a new tool that isn’t really part of Elements itself. Why should that be completely free? Especially considering that the tool is already available in a free basic version. You only need to pay if you want additional features.
As you can see, your outrage here feels pretty misplaced — otherwise, please be more specific about your concerns.

Elements CMS is free. The components, the Markdown-based content system, and the Online Editor are all included with Elements at no extra charge.
Solo ($99) and Studio ($199) are optional, one-time lifetime licenses for users who want advanced features: unlimited folders, version history, multi-user access, webhooks, JSON API, AI integration, and more. These go well beyond basic content management and are largely aimed at web designers building and managing client sites.
Everything is self-hosted. Your content stays on your own server. No ongoing fees, no third-party hosting dependency, you buy it once.
This isn’t bait and switch. Your subscription covers exactly what it always has. Solo and Studio are separate products for separate use cases, priced as one-time purchases specifically to avoid adding another subscription to your life.

From the very beginning we were told an Elements subscription includes “everything”.
A $100 add-on is not everything and using a crippled add-on as an up sell seems really sneaky.
While some might say it’s a one-time charge it’s one-third the cost of an annual Elements subscription and it sets a precedent for future “one-time” charges.
At this point you may as well use WordPress locally and push a static site. You get all the CMS features need and the security and performance of a static website.

Could you show me the advert/post where it was said “everything”? It was always said CMS was an add on for using on line editor and when launched a price would be known. Now it is it’s up to you whether you want to buy it. There is no need to use CMS proper and if you only want a blog then it’s free and included in Elements Licence. Am i missing something or have you misread the offer?
The Online CMS from the start was going to be a paid add-on. This was openly talked about, multiple times in these forums and in the videos. The CMS within Elements was included as part of the subscription, not the online version. Personally, I applaud the Elements team in making the basic Online CMS as part of the subscription. This was not the case from the beginning. Also, the cost compared to other competitive options is more than reasonable. There was nothing sneaky done here and it is offensive for you to imply that there was.
Personally, I’ve been down the WordPress route in the past but would never do that again. If that works for you great.
