CMS Pro FastSpring Registration key install & application to "Add On" websites

I have received a registration key from Fastspring. I have not been successful in find a location in Elements to install the key. Need some direction please.

Also I understand that the CMS upgrade applies only to one website and subdomains. Are “Add On” sites (listed under the primary “public” domain) considered as “subdomains”?

Thank you.

@dan

Hi @MHA

No, addon domains are separate domains.

Subdomains are something like:

mywebsite.com

blog.mywebsite.com

store.mywebsite.com

gallery.mywebsite.com

etc.

You would enter the license key in the Online Editor Dashboard of the CMS, not within the Elements app. Have you logged into your Online Editor yet on the website you want to start using the CMS on?

Question. I have Plus installed, no issues. I have CMS Pro, separate number, I see I register in the online interface. As I understand it, the online editor is not the only advantage of the Pro license. If I don’t want to use the online interface, is there another option to register the license? Am I missing something?

The CMS Pro features are only available in the online admin area of the CMS.

hmm. How does all this work then?

From documentation:

Additionally with a Pro CMS License:

The Elements CMS Pro license is a one-time purchase through FastSpring. A Pro license covers one top-level domain and all of its subdomains. The CMS Pro license is NOT included with your Elements license, and is an additional one-time purchase.

I may have answered my own questions from here. Overview and Setup | CMS | RapidWeaver Elements Docs

Is any of this a security concern? Not going to lie. One of the biggest reasons I choose this over Ghost or Wordpress was to avoid exposure to an online interface. Now I am learning that is exactly what I have to do in order to use this. Am I reading this right?

@Flash, do you mean that the CMS Pro license is a one time purchase, or should it be an ANNUAL subscription? When I purchased my license it looked to be an annual subscription.

That’s a question for @dan, that’s what I was asking him to clarify.

Lifetime updates, no subscription.

Oh good!! I was confused. Thanks for clarifying. I am camping, and couldn’t find this for sure and wanted to take advantage of the offer.
