CMS2 One Page v Multiple md files help,SOLVED

I super happy with how CMS2 is doing in my new project with help from Steve @upssjw yesterday. Now I have reached my next brain freeze - I have 20+ md files set up and they’re all working across 3 pages perfectly as I want.

Now I want to show the body text along with an image and headers for each file separately. I have set up a new page and used CMS “Item” insert and it works perfectly exactly as I want - however my dilemma is how do I get it to show one page for each of the 20 bodies texts from the separate md files? I can not put the md’s into a collection as they’re in different sections and I only want one to show at a time.

So do I add 20+ pages and point link to each md file or is there an easy way? @ben @dan TIA

if the content you want displayed is spread across multiple md files in multiple folders, then you would have to create a separate page for each md file, and add an Item component manually to each page.

THANKS sadly thats what I thought. I currently have 18 characters in 4 categories on 2 pages and I have two categories on each page. I think I will try this and see how I get on. I am loving CMS2 so straight forward for me until this point. Keep up the great work!

If you go to home page my Main character just below Video - Davey-T I want hime yo point to the md body as per project file Home>daveyt and so on for next three characters i.e. aPE to Home>ape etc. Just like your North Eleven file in Video demo.

I have tried various links in collections and Items and the combinations I have tried do not work

So long story short I want to click on characters and get the body text to appear on another page as per Home>davey etc. pages. TIA

Steve I’m indebted to you as this works and I’ve now added all my risks in same way.

I’m sure there are many ways and most probably easier but CMS2 makes it so much easier than before. I have now added 4 main characters, 15 risks and for both their “bodies” from md files - these will become very elongated and contain references to medical journals once finished.

Today with my new found knowledge - thanks to you - I am going to start on my main two characters - the story tellers - with about 10 md files and “comic” style pages to tell story - so thats my next challenge -“how to do a comic style page” Onwards and upwards! THANKS again!
