In Page Layout, contextual menus don’t appear if you click on the component icon. Not the end of the world of course, but it makes the application feel unresponsive.
Contextual menu’s should appear everywhere they are relevant.
Do you mean in the Components area? (Screenshot below).
If yes, what options did you want to see here?
No, in the Page Layout Inspector. There are contextual menus, they just don’t appear if you right click on the icon for the component (they correctly show up clicking anywhere else, including the white space). The attached screenshot shows the contextual menu I’m referring to. If I right click on the icon, nothing happens.
Now that I’m looking at my screenshot, it dawns on me that the Components area in your screenshot should probably have a contextual menu to view the help for the component.
Also, Unlink from Global should probably by grayed out if the component isn’t actually a Global ![]()
Ah gotcha, yes that is strange I always click on the text so have never come across this issue ![]()
We’ll get it fixed so that right-clicking on the component icons also triggers the menu.
I have a lot of problems “right clicking” on a MacBook Air, as well as dragging to re-sort.
Hold Control key when you click for right click.
Hah! Apparently only some days I click on the icon. I hadn’t finished my morning caffeine intake today and was very confused as to why I couldn’t get contextual menus to appear…
I know how it is supposed to work but that doesn’t mean it does reliably in Elements.
