Converting from Dreamweaver

I’ve been using Dreamweaver for over 11 years as I’m use to the html code. But now I’m stuck having to pay the monthly Adobe subscription to keep my wife’s company site updated. Every spring I have to update the schedules for our customers. For a very small company, paying monthly is something we’d prefer not to do.

Is there a way to simply transfer over to RapidWeaver? I’m use to the split screen of code and webpage which I can toggle back and for from work to live.

Here’s the website I created years ago and keep updated.

Hi @RayKelly,

Although similar in name, RapidWeaver and DreamWeaver are very different beasts.

In short: there’s no simple way to convert between them. You’re going to have to rebuild your site by hand in RapidWeaver I’m afraid.

Cheers,
Erwin

If you simply need to make occasional content edits, have you tried opening the pages you created in Dreamweaver with another code editor? For example, try Microsoft’s free Visual Studio Code (VSC) app.

You can configure VSC for a split view of the code and a more WYSIWYG view. You can also add an extension to FTP your edited files to a server, similar to Dreamweaver.

See if something like that would meet your needs. …pt
