Copy and Paste

How do I copy component(s) from one page in my project to another page in my project

I’m choosing the component from one of my pages. On Edit menu I select ‘copy’. Then I select the page where I’d like to copy the component. I then select Edit menu but the paste option is grayed out.

I’ve tried Ctrl C and Ctrl V but no luck

Thanks

I sorta figured out at least a work-a-round (perhaps this is planned way). If I select components inside what I’ll call the parent component I can copy and paste

I kind of had same question in copying a page or components from one PROJECT to another. The select then cmd+c and cmd+v do work. Even cmd+a to select everything on a page to copy and paste onto a new page. In the older RW I used to be able to drag a page from one project to another. Not anymore. I guess that has to do with the theme settings and such.

Hi,
I have found that if I do the following:

Open both Elements projects
Create a page in the new project
Add the “parent” component ie like the one in the old project to the newly added page in the new project
For example the old project has a Container component; so add a Container component to the new project

In the old project select the “child(en)” component(s) and use the Edit / Copy option or cmd+c
In the new project do a paste (Edit / Paste) or cmd+v to the new parent on the page that you created in the new project.

I haven’t tried to do that for an entire “old” project to a “new” project but it at least seems to work for the times I’ve tried it.

If I don’t have the terminology correct forgive me; but I hope this is clear enough to help.
