I have a question about some basic functionality enhancement for Elements itself that I was curious about:
That is the ability to, for related objects, i.e., things made using the same component, is there something in the works for being able to, say, right-click on one instance anywhere in a given website of that component, copy the properties of it, and then be able to either multiple select or single select other instances, and then right-click, paste properties?
It would be an uber convenient way of replicating all the work that somebody’s done creating all the styles and everything else, without having to go through the process of duplication and then replacing content, especially if you’re on a page that uses multiple instances of the same component, and you decide at a later point that you want to update all of the styles and attributes.
I don’t assume this would have been an easy topic to search for, and I haven’t been trying the betas because I’m trying to build something that I need to work currently as a live site. So, maybe I’m just out of the loop and you are already looking to add that functionality. But if you aren’t, I would think this would be a really big value add for the whole ecosystem.
One of the obvious behaviors would be that if you copied properties from a component and then clicked on a different component or object and then right-click (bring up your contextual menu), there would be no option to paste those properties because they don’t connect (there’s no relevant context). So that would remove any potential problems with pasting properties from an incompatible or a completely different type of component.
Anyway, just a thought. I would really love this feature. It’s quite tedious to have to scrub through multiple web pages to update multiple instances with this kind of change currently.
