Does anyone remember the CODE to display a country flag instead of “HOME” on the website? I used to have this but very unfortunately I lost it…
Thank you
Hi @hucky,
It depends on which country flag, and where you’d get the file from. It will only work with a menu that you fill (curate) yourself, and not with a menu that auto populates based on your page hierarchy in RapidWeaver.
For example, here’s a Dutch flag:
https://www.freeiconspng.com/thumbs/dutch-flag-png-icon/netherlands-dutch-flag-png-icon-5.png
To show that in a curated menu, for example SuperMenu, you’d add an image stack as a menu item, make that display the flag and then set the image stack as a link.
If you use an image stack that can’t be set as a link, drop the image stack in a stack that allows you to set any stack as a link (for example, the Link stack by Weaver’s Space).
If you must use an automatically populated menu, there’s a chance that you can replace whatever icon the theme uses for “Home” with an image of your choosing, but that requires looking at your source code and needs to be changed everytime you update your website.
Note:
Keep in mind that if you aim your website at EU citizens, UK citizens, Californian citizens or Australian citizens, drawing resources from a third party provider requires consent from the visitor before you pull the resource from that provider.

Erwin
WOW, thank you so much, Erwin. Very detailed indeed. I think what you put into your NOTE changes my mind of adding the flags completely…
Thanks for telling me before us getting into legal trouble.
Cheers, Erwin, very much appreciated.
Hi @hucky,
My warning in the note is only applicable if you decide to pull the file from a third party.
If you create your own flag and host the file on your own server, you won’t need to do that.
Cheers,
Erwin
