highlighted a word to link to a pdf in my resource folder but wont work…can link to a page but not a pdf…can create a button that works but want to highlight a word
I have a similar but slightly different question about how Elements will handle displaying PDF files. I currently have to use PDF Embed stack to view them in Classic. Will Elements have a built in way to open an PDF from a link and then display it, such as in a modal or on a page?
Good catch! That’s a bug, we’ll get it fixed in the next few betas.
Not currently, Elements will just link directly to it and open it in the browser. I’m sure they’ll be a third-party solution to this once Elements launches.
Stephen I have just been helping someone else on this and you may find this of use. If you need help just ask.
Your solution is a bit more sophisticated than mine. This is what I finally came up with.
Your information gives me more latitude though. Will play with it more. I wish that I didn’t have to have a HTML component for each of the PDF handouts I wanted to display, but oh well. Even Joe Workman’s PDF Embed stack, especially v4, gave me headaches, when suddenly it stopped working for whatever reason at some point. Finally gave up on that version.
@PMUK Thanks for helping out with a solution on this PDF issue.
One more thing…how did you share the link to your download? Just curious.
then copy into the icon in the edit area
Great. Thanks. Love learning something new each day ![]()
