I’m experimenting with the trial version. I have a 2x2 grid. Top left has text, the top right a video, bottom left some HTML code. All I seem to be able to is place the text in the top left hand grid. Has the trial version got limitations? I’m finding it very frustrating.
Hey @Jspringate,
Glad you’e trying out Elements, that’s awesome!
The only limitations in the trial version is you can’t publish to your own server. Other than that it’s all open and usable.
I’ve recorded you a quick tutorial showing how to use the grid:

Stick with Elements, once you get the hang of it you’ll be able to build anything you want, and if you do get stuck just post on the forum and we’ll be happy to help you out.
Happy Weaving!
hi Dan thank you so much for that tutorial. I should try and filter through all the options and get to grips with it! You see here’s my dilemma on crossing over to Elements. I bought classic many years ago I’m probably one of the very first. It was to build only a couple of websites. My main website is running very smoothly and contains 215 pages ( I update the site twice a month and it literally takes me 15 minutes to do it).so even though there is some migration help available not only will it take a hell of a lot of time to re-build there is also a big learning curve for Elements. I have over the past few months popped back and had a have another go at it getting to grips with Elements and today is one of those days so you’ll forgive me if I don’t leap into buying Elements just yet. Once again, many thanks for the tutorial
No problem, take your time, we’re here if you need us ![]()
Jay just out of interest whats your website address? TIA
Hi Dan. So I’ve set up a container with four grids. Text and videos are exactly where I want them to be. I wanted to put some HTML code in the bottom left-hand grid to do that I have to buy Elements so to experiment I tried putting in a button but it refuses to make contact with the bottom left-hand grid-it lands outside the container. In fact, everything I try does exactly the same thing. Any thoughts?
Use the node browser and drag the button there to where you want it
Many thanks-bit of a strange round about way of doing it?
It’s only strange while it is new to you.
The node browser is one of the things I really like about Elements compared to RW as you can very quickly move things around the page and play around with how it looks.
