Custom colors issue

When I drag a custom color, for example F6F5F4 to my custom palette, a different one is represented: F6F4F3. Are they rounded or modified for some reason?

No, I think that’s just macOS being macOS

If you click the custom colour palette, and then choose a colour (or type in a hex value) it should work as expected.

No, there is a colour space mismatch. the result is a fair bit off from the picked colour.

This is the exact same as Rapidweaver classic, and the way it’s always been in Rapidweaver Classic. What you pick and what you get are never the same.

If the user manually switches their system colour picker to SRGB they get an exact result when picking theme colours. But elements should be checking what space the picker is in and work accordingly.

Because different color spaces have different gamuts, the same hex value doesn’t represent the same color everywhere. If you pick a color in a larger gamut that doesn’t exist in sRGB, it has to be clipped or remapped to fit, which changes the numbers. The web only understands sRGB, so anything you design for websites will ultimately be converted to sRGB anyway. That’s why tools that target web output should use their own pickers tied to sRGB, instead of trusting the system picker’s current color space.
