Custom menu for multi lingual site

Hi,
I’m building a site that has 2 languages. I’m guessing the best way to do this is to put the second language pages into a folder where they don’t appear in the main menu, but then I can create a second menu for the folder contents.
I see this is possible using the ‘top pages’ template but this isn’t mobile friendly.
The templates for sticky, fixed and standard menus for some reason don’t have the display option where I can select a folder rather than top level pages.

Is there an easy way to do this?

A custom menu template or adding the display option into existing menus seems like the easiest way but not sure when they will be released.

Thanks for your help

Hi,
Could anybody help with this please?
I see there’s just been an addition in the store called smartbar but it has more features than I need and $67 is a lot for something when I would expect something as basic as a custom menu (or have the ability to be more flexible with the existing menus available) to be included in elements foc.
Thanks for any help you can give

Just a thought in sticky menu in right hand corner you have a button on loading in project for first time. Change this to a “flag” for your counties language and make it a reveal button and have contents as your second language menu. Just a thought to help.

Thanks for your input Paul.
So does this mean that on clicking the button I can reveal containers that would otherwise be hidden? Or have I misunderstood?
And if this is the case would I be able to hide the original language?
There’s also the problem of having the menu in a different language, which i’m guessing couldn’t be done.
For my original idea of just needing a simple custom menu, I’ve played with the idea of making a menu myself, which is no problem for the desktop version but I think it’s beyond my limits to create the menu for mobiles

The modal component consists of a content and a trigger. You can add a close modal link to close it. So my thought was have a “flag” icon or a word “FRENCH” or whatever as a trigger. This will open a new 'window - content - which could be your menu and then a close to close the menu, obviously this can have links in to. if you look at my site https://www.ezyasabc.co.uk And have a look at the sustainability and measure buttons this gives you an idea.

Hi @tonywilks

I’ve just recorded a quick-ish video to explain the basics of what Paul is suggesting. Hopefully this helps you understand how you could create a your own custom menu using the components that ship with Elements. If you have any more questions please let us know

That’s a huge help, thanks Ben. And Paul for suggesting it.
It could be an idea to have something like this in the templates section as i’m sure it will be needed at times.
Great customer care Ben. Thank you!
