Dev Diary 80: We Just Made Selecting Things WAY Easier in Elements!

Hey,

This might just be my favourite new feature that we’ve added in the past few weeks. It’s one of those features that, once you start using it, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it. Say hello to “Scroll to Selection”. This humble feature really gives the Elements editor a whole new level of polish.

@tpbradley did a sterling job implementing this “little” feature, I hope you all love it as much as I do :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

A new build with the scroll to selection option will be available later this week. However, if everyone posts a comment and likes the video on YouTube, we might release it later today!

Move to Elements Today

To coincide with the launch of version 1.0, the price of Elements will increase, starting June 1st. If you’ve been thinking about building your website with Elements, now’s the perfect time to get started.

Visit the elementsapp.io website to purchase a license today and take advantage of the lower pricing!

Thanks for Your Feedback

As always, keep the feedback coming. Your input has made all the difference so far.

Thank you!

See you soon,
Dan & Team Realmac.

I appreciate that feature from Blocs for a long time. and I’m thrilled to see it included in your future plans for Elements. I urge you to also add it to RWC, as it shouldn’t be restricted to Pro users; this should be a fundamental capability that everyone can utilize. Video: AKCShot-05-12-2025_000858

Great, this is almost how it should work …
What really would be a helpful addition to this, is a click-history with back/forward buttons.
Why? Well, if I have such a long page, I often think, hey, I’ve done this/that somewhere, I click on a container and then I see something and start editing and then I realise I went here for this idea, but where was I before the click?

@dan Hallelujah, all my dreams have now come true with Elements. I have been dreaming about this feature since almost day one. The implementation looks awesome. Can’t wait to get my hands on it. Well done Team!

This should be active by default. Wonder why we’d be able to toggle it in the first place. I don’t see a use case for NOT having this active

I stll need an Activation number!

Hi there.

I’m on the fence with regards to taking the plunge with Elements. I already have a few websites built with Rapidweaver, plus a few handfuls of 3rd party stacks, and I’m keen to retain those investments.

I’m keen to understand how I can continue to maintain my sites, and also whether there’s a migration path from RW towards Elements? I’ve done some basic searching, but have drawn a blank.

OR

Is my potential move towards Elements the opportunity to completely re-write everything already completed?

Really keen to understand more. If you can provide a resource that answers my questions, that would be helpful - thanks.

Regards

Bob Robertson (sent via my iDevice with probably a few typos which Apple will undoubtedly fix one day)

Your licence number is shown to you just after purchase and sent to you via email. I’ve found you in our system and have re-sent the email.

Let me know if you’re still having issues, and I can help further.

Thanks for your support!

Elements is a fresh start, a completely new app built from the ground up using modern web standards, so there’s no automatic migration path from RapidWeaver projects or stacks. We did consider it, but because the underlying systems are so different, any sort of “conversion” would have resulted in more confusion than clarity.

That said, many users have found Elements to be a great opportunity to rethink or rebuild their sites with cleaner layouts, better performance, and less reliance on plugins. If you’re maintaining client sites built with RW and Stacks, there’s no need to abandon them, you can continue to do that in parallel and explore Elements as you go.

We don’t currently have a single guide that walks through this kind of transition (though maybe we should!), but we’re happy to answer any questions you have!
