Dev Diary Ep70 - Elements 0.6.7 Update

Was this okay in previus builds? If so, then please wait for the new release later today as this issue should be fixed.

Yes, it’s to ensure the object is fully rounded/circular.

Update dissapeared.

Hi I was waiting till tonight to update the software. And it ask me if I want to update the software today afternoon.

But now when I ask to Check for update it tells me 0.6.6 is the latest version. What happened?

NVM… just saw the post.

Hi Dan,

the problem with the menu has existed for a very long time. I’m not sure if it has ever worked in this project.

Hi Dan,

I have found the problem with the menu. For whatever reason the standard - layout - Z-Index was set to Custom 0. Was probably my mistake or an update problem. Anyway problem is fixed.

Can you send me the project to take a look at via Elements Cloud?

Aaah, perfect!

The fonts were added from google fonts into the theme.

Is it fixed for you in the latest build (0.6.8)?

Hi Dan,

when submitting a form, the error message text does not appear. I use custom colors again.

@dan I also ran into this problem with a couple of my projects where the standard menu was behind the banner on my page. I ended up having to bump the Z-index up to 200 for it to appear above the banner. I’m using a sticky navbar and before I tweaked it the content was scrolling over the navbar. This had not been a problem in the previous beta. I had always had a custom z-index of 5. Tried bumping it to 20, did not work so I went to 200 and then it worked.

It does not appear to be fixed in 0.6.8., which is what I’m using. More testing with other projects to come. My other projects are showing the same problem.

Hi Dan,

I don’t understand it, but today the problem with the overlaid menu entries has reappeared. Changes to the Z-Index did not help this time. Since Robin reports similar problems, there is probably still a bug here.

The following behavior is also quite strange. I loaded older versions of Elements with Timemaschine to see how it worked there. The older versions of Elements can only not open the current project. But other projects can be opened. This gives me the suspicion that part of the file is corrupt. With version 0.68 the project can be opened without any problems.
I wanted to check whether the linking of the pages is correct. I noticed that up to version 0.67, clicking on Service 1 opened the Consulting 1 page. With version 0.67 this error was suddenly gone. As I cannot open the project with old versions, I am unfortunately unable to reproduce this behavior.

@Berthold,

I’ve taken a quick look at your project, just switch the container below your menu to Isolate (under Layout). See video below on how to do this:

There’s always a way with Elements :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Hi Dan,

Thank you very much for the quick help. I did not know this function before, but I think it is very helpful for many developers. In the documentation, Visible should be replaced by Isolate.

Getting “error downloading document” when I try to “open this project.”

The document has probably been deleted…
