I know that I can reorder Gallery images by dragging them around in their Resource folder, and by consciously organizing them in the finder before adding the images folder to the Resource panel, but oh my it would be way easier if we could drag them around inside the Gallery.
I can understand wanting this, however, it’s not a trivial feature to implement.
For now, the best and most reliable way is to organise them in a folder.
I’m sure once we’ve got some of the bigger items out of the way, and Elements is a little more mature, we can tackle features like this

I have done it that way mostly. I think it’s worth noting that dragging the folder from the Finder into Resources changes the order of the items inside the folder to some degree. Best to create a folder in Resources, select all the items from the Finder, and drag them into the Resources folder. It seems that way they keep the order the user has set in the finder, which in my case is alphabetical.
