I have a photo in an Image component and I set the border to full radius to make it a circle. I put a shadow on it and in Elements, the shadow looks great, but when I preview the shadow is cut off on the bottom. Why does it look fine in Elements and then cuts off in Preview? Does anyone know what settings I should toggle on or off? I tried to set to Visible in Overflow but that doesn’t seem to work.
Have you set the overflow to hidden on the images?
I set it to visible and that didn’t work. What’s weird is I don’t see the cut off shadow in Elements it’s only when I preview it cuts off.
Should be overflow “Hidden” in the Layout tab of the image inspector
I have this and it’s still cutting off. Is this what you mean? It’s still the same issue: I don’t see the shadow cut off in Elements but when I preview I see it cut off.
Add some padding below to the component, the image or the container the image is in. Maybe upload a project file for someone to look at
It has padding already. What’s weird is it’s not showing in Elements so I don’t understand why it would cut off in preview as Elements is supposed to be WYSIWYG. I can’t remember how to upload but if I did who would look at it?
how to upload, someone will take a look
To clarify: if you set overflow to hidden, you will see the shadow cropped. Set it to visible (or don’t touch it at all).
Thank you. It looks like a combination of adding some padding and setting the overflow to visible fixed it. I’ll keep checking to see if the cut off comes back but for now I think I solved it. Thanks everybody!
Padding should not be necessary if overflow is set to visible.
But glad to hear it works for you now.
