Edit mode crashes

I am a bird photographer and every time I finish a new trip I add it to www.comingsbirds.com as a new sub-web site (subdomain). All of my websites have used RapidWeaver and I love it. I tried Elements but I much prefer RapidWeaver. I recently went back to some I had done years before. When I opened some pages for a specific bird, the text was preset but the bird photos were missing. When I tried to shift to the edit mode (pencil) to add the photos, it crashed. I tried using later versions 8, 9 and 10 but that did not solve the problem. Any suggestions? David Comings dcomings@earthlink.net.

Hello, I wanted to visit your site and although it seems full of very pretty photos, it’s also full of bugs, as some links return 404 errors, for example:
http://www.comingsbirds.com/www.ComingsBirds.com/TrinidadTobago
http://www.comingsbirds.com/PacificCoast

I’ll come back with interest

any thoughts on why the editor crashes and how to fix it?

Are you using the same version of RW that you made the site with? You cannot open a site made in V5 with V9 without problems appearing due to changes in the basic OS. As far as I recall if your site was made in V5 you need to open it in V6 and then save it as a V6 project then open it with V7, save as V7 and repeat until you get to the latest version. That is if you can get V5 (or whatever) running with the latest OS.

The copyright in the footer says 2009 so may be a few versions to crunch through?

And I would probably say give Elements another go. It took me a while to get my head around it but you can make a site look so much nicer than in RW, as a photographer you would probably appreciate that.
