Warning! There are significant under-the-hood changes in today’s build. Please read the following before updating:
We’ve made fundamental improvements to the Preview and Export pipeline in Elements. In our testing, both Preview and Export are now up to 440% faster, thanks to optimizations and enhanced support for multi-core processing.
For example, our large theme test project used to take 3.8 seconds to preview. It now takes just 0.7 seconds
That’s a 5X speed boost across the board for Preview and Export
Elements should prompt you while it’s running to let you know there’s an update. If it doesn’t, you can select the “Check for Updates…” menu option from the “Elements” app menu.
If you are running a licensed copy of Elements, please post all feedback in the Feedback Forum. You can use the Elements > Send Feedback… menu item to automatically pre-fill the build number into a new topic.
Just tested the publish which seems faster but then I thought it was fast already (M4 Pro mac Mini).
So it looks like the assets still aren’t being published if they are changed after the initial publish following a restart? I assume the export pipeline was just speed enhancing existing code rather than fixing publishing issues?
On a separate note, when is the packaging for third party DevPacks going to happen. Ideally, I would want that in place prior to releasing my Alloy replacement blog.
@dan There is a problem with this build on my end. I cannot switch pages, it stays stuck on the home page. I tried both the popup at the bottom of the editor in the breadcrumb and the pages panel. Regardless of which page I select the editor does not update to display that pages.
I’ll try quitting and restarting to see if that fixes the problem.
UPDATE: a restart seems to have fixed the problem, will keep testing. This version did crash when I tried to publish a site that I had published a few minutes earlier.
