Elements 0.7.8 (23502)

Hello again,

:warning: Warning! There are significant under-the-hood changes in today’s build. Please read the following before updating:

We’ve made fundamental improvements to the Preview and Export pipeline in Elements. In our testing, both Preview and Export are now up to 440% faster, thanks to optimizations and enhanced support for multi-core processing.

For example, our large theme test project used to take 3.8 seconds to preview. It now takes just 0.7 seconds :star_struck:

That’s a 5X speed boost across the board for Preview and Export :tada:

We don’t anticipate any issues, but if you run into trouble, you can download the previous build here (v0.7.7).

What’s New in Elements 0.7.8?

  • 5x speed improvements for preview and export!
  • Added CMS category to API for components
  • Gallery lightbox images are now resized better when viewport width is increased
  • Fixed issue with main page scrolling when a long menu is open on mobile
  • Added SVG support to Top Pages component
  • Added folder support to Top Pages component
  • Fixed alignment issues in Top Pages component

Get the Update

Elements should prompt you while it’s running to let you know there’s an update. If it doesn’t, you can select the “Check for Updates…” menu option from the “Elements” app menu.

Alternatively, you can always download the latest build of Elements here.

Give Feedback

If you are running a licensed copy of Elements, please post all feedback in the Feedback Forum. You can use the Elements > Send Feedback… menu item to automatically pre-fill the build number into a new topic.

Installed the upgrade. :slightly_smiling_face:

Just tested the publish which seems faster but then I thought it was fast already (M4 Pro mac Mini).

So it looks like the assets still aren’t being published if they are changed after the initial publish following a restart? I assume the export pipeline was just speed enhancing existing code rather than fixing publishing issues?

On a separate note, when is the packaging for third party DevPacks going to happen. Ideally, I would want that in place prior to releasing my Alloy replacement blog.

Glad to hear you are moving forward with this. :star_struck:

Something is wrong after updating to the latest version.

Can you also share your project file with us again so we can take a look?

In the meantime, you can rollback to 0.7.7.

@dan As you can see in the video, Elements doesn’t update when switching to a new page."

I cannot reproduce the issue here. Can you share your project?

I have sent you an email.

@dan There is a problem with this build on my end. I cannot switch pages, it stays stuck on the home page. I tried both the popup at the bottom of the editor in the breadcrumb and the pages panel. Regardless of which page I select the editor does not update to display that pages.

I’ll try quitting and restarting to see if that fixes the problem.

UPDATE: a restart seems to have fixed the problem, will keep testing. This version did crash when I tried to publish a site that I had published a few minutes earlier.

Thanks, we’re looking into it now!

Thanks guys,

I’ve been able to reproduce the issue here and will get it fixed up asap.

Cheers
