Elements 1.5.4 (23952)

Hello again,

We’re back with a HUGE Elements update, lots of improvements to the main app as well as a whole host of component updates. Watch this weeks Dev Talk to learn more about 1.5.4 and what we’re planning next :face_with_monocle:

What’s New in Elements 1.5.4?

  • Ensure spaces in URLs and files are now dashes!
  • Upgraded to PHP 8.4.15
  • Added Link URL to image metadata inspector
  • Added Publishing Connection type to the publishing setup window
  • Tidied Publishing setup layout
  • Fixed numerous notification issues
  • Store: Added Creator name to product listings
  • Store: Added Cloud storage usage to Account Details
  • Image Slider: Added new fade effect option
  • Image Slider: Added option to pause on hover
  • Image Slider: Added option to change transition speed
  • Image Slider: Images with URL’s are now linked
  • CMS: Fixed an issue with related items and pretty URLs
  • CMS: Added twig/intl-extra for internationalisation filters
  • CMS: Fixed issue where large amounts of pagination items would cause issues on smaller screens. We now wrap the page numbers onto new lines when the component becomes too wide.
  • CMS: Inactive items (like the […] separators) no longer get hover styling applied
  • Forms: Removed timestamps from all email templates (no need as the email client displays the time of email)
  • Forms: Added 4 email templates to choose from: Default (current design), Simple, Modern, Table
  • Forms: Subject field is now correctly used for the email subject
  • Forms: Added ability to customise the email header and footer text
  • Numerous other smaller bug fixes

Purchase a License

You can visit the Elements website to purchase a license.

Elements Store is now live!

It’s a built-in place to discover, share, and buy products made for Elements: components, templates, projects, themes, and resource packs. You can browse free and paid products, install them directly into Elements, and even submit your own work to share with others.

Get the Update

Elements should prompt you while it’s running to let you know there’s an update. If it doesn’t, you can select the “Check for Updates…” menu option from the “Elements” app menu.

Alternatively, you can always download the latest build of Elements here.

Need a previous build?

If the latest build causes issues for your setup, you can roll back to an earlier version using the Release Notes page.

Give Feedback

If you are running a licensed copy of Elements, please post all feedback in the Feedback Forum. You can use the Elements > Send Feedback… menu item to automatically pre-fill the build number into a new topic.

Thought it might mess up my sites that have blank spaces in file names…

But seems to be fine! Happy  for that… in the future will do all lower case and hyphens…

Contact Forms seem to appear ‘frozen’ not working…

OneSongEveryDay.com (1) form
TrumpetStudio.com (3) forms

Old sites seems to all work tested 1.5.3 version

Seems to be adding ///

https://www.onesongeveryday.com/explore/contact-me/contact.php

One song - seems to be fine with ///// but still is not working…

I can see an error in the request saying it can’t load a required config file, could you try republishing all files?

Reloaded both sites 2x and cleared cache and history…

Re Publishing all again now…

more than welcome!
the first implementation allows me to use the gallery also as a background for text boxes, by slowing down the speed a lot you get interesting results!

bravo !

Please take your time and relax :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: no big deal that contact form is down for me…

No rush.

Whenever you get to it is totally fine….

Best
Mike

Don’t upgrade if you have Sitelok integrated into a production web site.

it’s going to break it for sure if you have hard coded php referencing pages with underscore in their names.

Hi @MottNZ

I replied to your support ticket, but will reply to you here as well.

The update should not affect existing folders, filenames, and URLs with an underscore in them. If you have existing folders, filenames, and URLs with underscores those should remain untouched.

The update only affects newly created folders, filenames, and URLs with spaces in them. The below screen recording demonstrates that.

If you are seeing something different please let us know.

EDIT: After further information provided, that change did affect @MottNZ’s specific setup.

For those using Sitelok, have spaces in your folder/filenames in Elements’ page inspector, and are using hard coded link references with underscores in your site code, those will need to be corrected/updated before upgrading to v1.5.4.
