Elements 1.6.0 (23973)

Hello again,

We’ve got a fresh new build ready for you, just in time for the weekend :tada:

This update is packed with improvements, fixes, and upgrades across the board, with a particular focus on our built-in components. A huge amount of this work comes directly from requests and feedback here on the forum, hopefully that comes across in today’s build. Enjoy!

What’s New in Elements 1.6.0?

  • Custom Component editor now works on Tahoe
  • FTP browser window buttons now work on Tahoe
  • FTP Test Bookmark button is now more visible
  • Improved support for dropping Markdown files into the Page Manager
  • Fixed an issue where theme breakpoints could become locked at zero
  • Tree Menu: Added support for opening links in new windows
  • Text: Added an option for small caps
  • Form: Fixed additional issues triggered by certain hosting environments
  • CMS Collection: Added support for a discoverable RSS feed
  • CMS Collection: Added support for applying an offset
  • Filter: Added support for changing the outline focus colour
  • Gallery: Next and Previous lightbox controls are now hidden on mobile devices
  • Removed the unused Catalog window (functionality will be integrated into the Store)
  • Further store improvements

Purchase a License

You can visit the Elements website to purchase a license.

Elements Store is now live!

It’s a built-in place to discover, share, and buy products made for Elements: components, templates, projects, themes, and resource packs. You can browse free and paid products, install them directly into Elements, and even submit your own work to share with others.

Get the Update

Elements should prompt you while it’s running to let you know there’s an update. If it doesn’t, you can select the “Check for Updates…” menu option from the “Elements” app menu.

Alternatively, you can always download the latest build of Elements here.

Need a previous build?

If the latest build causes issues for your setup, you can roll back to an earlier version using the Release Notes page.

Give Feedback

If you are running a licensed copy of Elements, please post all feedback in the Feedback Forum. You can use the Elements > Send Feedback… menu item to automatically pre-fill the build number into a new topic.

We’ve not yet fixed the publishing text issue just yet… please note, this is only cosmetic and will not affect you’re uploads

It should be fixed in a new build next week!

I just noticed with this version that my LOAD MORE buttons stopped working on the published site. They work just fine in preview, but not on the live site. I have twice done a republish all, but that did not make any difference.

This might not have been working in the previous versions, as I had failed to check this page recently.

@handshaper Thanks for the report, and sorry it’s not working. I’ll dig into this tomorrow with @ben and find out what’s going on. Stay tuned!

For me, the “Load More” button works, but it keeps generating the same post over and over again.

Thanks, we’ll get on this first thing tomorrow and issue a fix ASAP!

The Collection Pagination also looks a bit wild …

Sometimes it shows 6 items, then on the next page only 2, and on the next one suddenly 8.

Or, like in the screenshot, it shows no items at all…

I can’t replicate this, do you have a live URL where a Load More isn’t working?

I can’t replicate this, do you have a live URL where this is happening?

Also can’t replace this, do you have a link for this one as well?

Could you also send me your latest project so I can see how you have everything setup?

an email with the project file has been sent to you.

Where do I find this?

I asked the same question yesterday. You can find the answer here:

Documentation a bit sparse. Am I supposed to do this for the element?

Use Plain Text instead of URL in the selection.

@ben Here is a link to a page where it is not working for me. The same page works in preview but not live.

MAIRFOILS Website - Dimensions

Doesn’t work.

Moreover, I’ll point to the actual source of RSS (Dave Winer): Feed discovery tips . Elements is not building an rss.xml file at the root of a site. Instead, we’re getting siteurl.com/com.realmac.corepack/api/cms/rss?content_path=cms%2Fposts&page_path%2Fpost@2F&pretty_urls=0&title=nameoffeed±+posts&description=RSS+feed+for+posts&link= and much more.

Strictly speaking, it already works… as you’ve noticed yourself.

Yes, I agree it’s not an ideal solution, and the path to get there is quite long and, well… not great.

But it does what it’s supposed to do.

@Pegasus your issue where the Load More button loads multiples of the same item is because you have a Collection inside an Item component.

If you move your Collection outside of the Item everything works as expected.

Hi @handshaper

This is an odd one, your server is returning a 403 “You don’t have permission to access this resource.” when trying to fetch more items.

The Load More was working for you previously, correct?

Have you switched hosts, or know if anything has changed on your server recently?
