One of the greatest opportunities I see for Elements is the chance for Realmac Software to return to best practices in website creation. RapidWeaver initially embraced these principles, but with the introduction of Stacks, many aspects began to deviate from this focus. While a developer could create validating code with enough time and understanding, best practices and accessibility standards were often neglected.
With its modern engine and creative use of TailwindCSS, Elements has the potential to generate clean, efficient, and validating HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code while ensuring full accessibility. I hope that Realmac Software prioritizes and maintains these standards.
I would also love to see Realmac Software become a leader—an AMBASSADOR, if you will—in advocating for accessible, standards-compliant web development. They can achieve this by promoting the use of components according to the standards set by relevant committees. This approach will result in faster, more user-friendly websites that generate increased traffic and, ultimately, more profit. I strongly believe that Realmac should do everything within reason to support both novice and experienced developers in creating compliant, high-quality websites.
perhaps people dont want to learn new stuff…I notice in your bit you say I a lot…I dont want to learn Tailwind javascript etc etc…I like drag and drop and Realmac might be losing me as an elements customer if it gets too complicated and will stick with classic found and stacks…cos at the moment I can create decent sites without all this stuff your banging on about
Don’t worry, we’ll make sure Elements remains easy to use.
The more advanced features are all hidden away, so you don’t need to get involved with those. A lot of the web standards stuff is all under the hood so novice users need not even think about them
ta…im getting on a bit now nearly 70 and run my mates website and hes not as computer literate as me and I have to be able to let him run it if and when I pop my clogs. I was going to get him to use the same software as im using ie classic foundry and stacks and a couple of others for photo albums etc but hoping Elements will be easier for him. i didnt really want to have to buy foundry and stacks if elements can do most of what he needs
