What’s happening here? When I try to view a page, I get this error message.: Cannot connect to the server. Then Elements quits. I’ve tried rebooting computer and re-opeing Elements several times.
Is this happening when you try to preview your website in the browser?
Have you tried restarting your Mac?
It happens when I tried to preview in the browser. I’ve restarted the computer. I’m not home now but when I get home I’ll restart it again.
So I ran First Aid and then restarted. But when I tried to preview a page, Elements suddenly closed. Not a good situation because now I can’t work own the site.
*on
I opened one of the practice files. I was able to view a page in the browser. But a few moments later, Elements abruptly closed.
I’, using Elements 1.0.12 and OSX 15.5 (24F74).
maybe an update helps. elements is running on 1.1.1
Ok. I’ll try it.
It turns out I am running 1.1.1. Can I download an older version?
wait for help from @dan
So I tried a number of practice files. They all seemed to be work this time in the browser, but not my file. There is something happening in my file that is causing Elements to crash. I think this is happening after I upgraded to 1.1.1.
I have hundreds. of photos on my site. But what I notice is that file is way too large: (7.06 GB on disk). Most of the photos are low-res, less than 100K.
571,641,125 bytes (7.06 GB on disk)
Pardon my ignorance. It’s not 7.06 GB but 571 MB.
Would you be able to upload your project to Elements Cloud? That way, we can take a proper look and help track down the issue for you.
It’s completely free, and we’ve got a quick guide on how to sign up and share your project.
Once it’s uploaded, you’ll get a shareable link, just paste that here in the forum.
I have managed to bypass this message.
But I can’t seem to upload the site.
Sorry. It is uploading.
