Hi all. Is there a way to capture the IP address of the person or bot submitting a form? I am trying to determine the source of unwanted solicitations I am receiving. (“Hey there. I can improve your SEO score … contact me if interested.”) Honeypot is not catching them.
Hi @randerson27
Trying to block via IP address would really be a fruitless endeavor, as automated bots use rotating IP addresses, so you’d constantly be banning an IP, then another, then another, ad infinitum.
HoneyPot is the most basic of Spam Protection options in the form settings. Better ones would be:
- Cloudflare Turnstile
or
- Google reCaptcha
If you need help getting either of those set up, let us know. Happy to help. ![]()
