The store currency is set using the visitor’s browser/language locale, so if set to US English it would show USD, British English would show GBP, and any European language (from an EU country) would show EUR.
All other locales show the store’s default currency which is GBP.
As @dan mentioned, you can switch the currency in the shopping cart to the one you prefer to pay with.
Sorry to hear you are having troubles. I’m using DuckDuckGo as my search engine and the links work fine, but I’m not using their actual browser, so perhaps there’s something blocking the links in your DuckDuckGo browser?
Can you try a different browser to confirm, like Safari or something else?
Once again, I’d like to give a shout-out to @differentdan Daniel; the support he provides with Elements Hosting is stellar. It has actually now become a pleasure to deal with my hosting requirements.
I can highly recommend Elements Hosting, long live El!
Chillidog Hosting is no longer Chillidog Hosting, it’s Exact hosting.. I think the old Chillidog prices are grandfathered in for a bit of time for existing customers, however I feel our prices are similar. For example their Frankfurter plan is the same price as our Starter plan, and their Sausage plan is the same as our Freelancer plan. In both cases, we offer more for the same price.
Also, I’ve been getting a lot of negative reports regarding Exact hosting from the customers I’ve been onboarding over the last weeks. For example this past Saturday, I onboarded a customer who was unable to verify his new Google Workspace domains because DNS edits are not “sticking” in the new cPanel over on Exact hosting. He was waiting for days with unverified Google Workspace domains and getting no help from Exact hosting support.
I moved him over to our hosting and DNS, and we got all his Google Workspace domains verified and his email working in about 15 minutes (total of 3 domains to verify and set up the email) during the Zoom call. This is the level of support we provide with Elements Hosting.
Feel free to give us a try if you encounter any troubles over on Exact hosting, we’d be happy to host you on Elements Hosting.
Sorry to bother do you have your emails up after outage today from Exact to move everything to their server? It said 1000-1400 here and it’s now 1830 and still no email! It’s killing my business. I emailed support on Thursday asking why they’re doing it during day and not at weekend and got a cursory reply overnight last night. I have emailed them an hour ago asking for help as email still not up but don’t know when I’ll get a response.
I have started turning over to Elements Hosting and @differentdan is brilliant with the support to do it. I ahve found it cheaper than Chillidog (of old)
I hear you. So far, so good with Chillidog… unless I have an issue… who knows. I certainly don’t like the complexities of a general-purpose hosting company…. for a web server like mine, though, I’m not sure I need 10 GB of NVMe storage. Anyhow, I’ll keep an eye on your offering the next time it’s due for renewal!
We are just offering monthly pricing. We’re not trying to lock people into long contract terms or commitments. People should be free to choose what’s best for them without worrying about breaking a long contract/commitment.
I feel we are quite competitive for the service and support we offer. As I always mention, we are not participating in a race to the bottom on pricing. For the level of services and support we are providing, our prices are a bargain.
Indeed, all customers can get a free fully managed Cloudflare account. We take care of all the DNS, security, and performance optimizations so our customers don’t have to worry with all that stuff, and can just focus on building their best websites in Elements.
I’d like to say I’m very excited to discover Elements Hosting, because I really am. The problem is getting me to the point where I can use it! (I’m getting a headache just thinking about what a hassle it will be!)
I’ve got two sites hosted at Chillidog ,or are they actually at Exact Hosting now? I don’t have an account at Exact, and don’t want to stick with them, as I’ve read about the problems and NO THANKS.
My other 9 sites are hosted via BlueHost, and last year I tried for days to move them to Chillidog and gave up after dozens of emails and tech support chats. But I would like to move them all to Elements Hosting and have no idea how to actually make that happen.
Thanks for your interest in hosting with us, we’d love to welcome you onboard.
If you want to schedule a Zoom call I can help you get everything moved over and answer any questions you have about the process. Or if you prefer to do it yourself we can communicate back and forth via email.
Let me know whatever you prefer and I’ll accommodate.
Hi Daniel,
Wow, thanks for getting back to me so quickly!!!
Since I posted I was able to contact Bluehost, one of my current web service providers, and get an EPP code for one of the domains I wanted to move to your service. AS I’m sure you are aware, I needed the EPP code to create an account with you and purchase the Starter package. So that is done.
I now have an account with you with the domain jbraley.com
I would love to be able to publish my site to that account, but don’t know what settings to use in Elements. Also, I am logged into my account, but when I click the Login to Control Panel nothing happens (well, it spins for a few seconds, but then nothing).
That’s Safari’s pop-up blocking, you have to click on the little icon in Safari’s address bar to allow the pop-up which takes you to the Reactor Panel… You can add reactor.elementshosting.io to the allowed domains in your Safari Settings >> Websites >> Pop-up Windows.
I’ll go ahead and reach out to you via email in the Elements Hosting Client Portal since the rest of your questions are account specific and better communicated one on one.
Thanks for signing up for the hosting account, we really appreciate it.
We can host any website, it doesn’t matter the domain name extension (.church, .blog, etc.). All you’d have to do is order the Elements Hosting web hosting package (Starter, Freelancer, or Business) and then update your domain nameservers to point to ours. You’d do that at the current domain registrar (the company where you purchased the domain name from).
If you want to actually register a new domain, or transfer a domain name registration over to us, then yeah that’s limited by the TLDs that we support.
We haven’t added .church or .blog TLDs to our billing system yet, but I can do that in the next day or two if you want to register some new domains, or transfer some .church or .blog domains over to us.
