First, let me say that I’m very excited and satisfied with the final outcome of my Elements site! It’s ready for prime time and I hope you check it out.

My thoughts on Elements: The learning curve was a bit steep but once you get the hang of things, it was easy. For instance, discovering that putting photo galleries inside of a container was needed in order to deal with gallery margins was a light bulb moment for me.

The blog was very difficult and time consuming to put together (countless hours!). The basics, like changing the page from html to php took a long time for me to realize and understand. The rest of it took forever to get working. It was definitely a eureka moment when it finally did start working! Spending time watching outdated video tutorials was a pain.

And finally, publishing uploads even for small changes on one page is very slow. It takes a long time generating checksums. Once it gets to uploading files it’s fast, but it takes a long time before it gets there. And quitting the application is very slow. I often experience long waiting times watching beachballs.

In the end, was it all worth it, compared to my Classic site?

Yes!!!

Take a look!

Yes the blog takes some time to get working…

Once you get it then your good to go…

(I forgot the php page naming in my last try also - don’t feel bad)
