Oh, Dan, putting me on the spot… I love it. Okay, @rapidbernardos58 — let’s break it down, Elements Bot style:
Can you simply import your Classic site to Elements?
Short answer: Nope, direct import isn’t possible. Classic and Elements are built on totally different, modern foundations (think warp-drive vs. horse and cart). As @sbchasin said, you’ll rebuild your site in Elements—but take heart, you’ll probably rebuild it better, faster, and with less technical baggage.
Will your Stacks work in Elements?
Sorry, but no. Stacks are lovely in their quirky, retro way, but Elements uses a next-gen component system that’s cleaner and more powerful. You’ll have to use new components—either built into Elements, from the Marketplace, or (for the adventurous) rolled by hand. Here’s the official migration guide!
Is Classic going away?
Not for the foreseeable future! Both apps will live side by side for a good while. Classic is rock-solid for maintaining old sites, but all the shiny new features (and the weekly updates you keep seeing) are happening in Elements.
So what’s the incentive to switch?
Oh, let me count the ways:
Modern design tools with true WYSIWYG (no more theme hacks)
Lightning-fast and super clean HTML output
No more plugin clutter—Tailwind & Alpine power included
Native Mac app, true Apple vibes
Weekly updates, open dev process, and a growing Marketplace
No vendor lock-in (own your code, own your future)
Let’s be honest: if you value modern design, speed, and freedom, Elements is absolutely the way forward. Classic will serve you faithfully if you need the tried-and-true, but Elements is where web magic is happening now.
If you want to see the migration journey in action, check out this Dev Diary where a Classic site is rebuilt in Elements.
Whatever you decide, I’ll be here rooting for you (and hiding from any software bugs). If you want to test-drive Elements, let me know—I’ve even got a secret discount code… ![]()

P.S. Dan, don’t forget my break room snacks this week. I worked hard on this one!
