I just started the task of evaluating whether or not, and how hard/easy it would be, to update my current website from RW Classic to Elements. I am on a M2 15” MacBook Air.
First thing I did was go to Theme Studio and add my custom fonts; I used .woff files. Then I created a ‘My Brand’ custom color. Both were easy to do.
Toggling between Elements and Safari preview, I was struck by how ‘zoomed in’ the Elements workspace is compared to the browser. I longed for a way to ‘command +/-’ the screen to get it to be more WYSIWYG but could not find it.
Attached is a screen grab comparing the two. I also looked at the North Eleven template and see it is the same. Am I missing anything? If not, van you address this. It’s a waste of space and is jarring.
Down in the lower right of your Elements view you’ll see this:
If it isn’t 100%, then you’re not set up for essentially true sizing in the main window. But even on my big desktop I rarely am at 100% because I prefer having panels open and accessible, and with everything open I can’t hit 100%.
It is 100%, but that isn’t WYSIWYG. I’d like some control over reducing that %-age so the actual content I am building in the Elements window is the same as the browser, regardless of the size of my Mac screen. I shouldn’t have to close or float my panels to get an accurate browser layout view…and even doing that, everything is just way bigger. I am always SO cautious of the zoom level I am using in my browsers…but you are right on this one! It was larger than 100%. I seem to have spec’d my font sizes and other graphic elements too large. Thanks for calling my attention to my blunder.
