Error with Images (Ressources) in folders

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all fine. Setting up my private webpage and stumpled over a bug. I am aware of the resource path required in components, but this is a different issue.

Haven’t done any Elements work for a few month, do to other projects. Did not find anything related to this in the forum and I am just suprised that no one reported this yet, since I saw the Resources beeing out for a while already.

And just upfront. I am using only build in components. No custom once.

  1. Add your own images to resources into a folder

Elements:

Browser:

Solution for now:

Do not keep images in folders, makes a problem with structuring.

  1. Drag & Drop

This works:

This does not:

Try putting your images in a folder on your computer. Drag that folder into resources. Drag the Gallery component (or Image Slider) into a Container. Drag the folder from resources into that Gallery component.

The drag and drop in your second pic only works for individual images. Your ‘tree’ should only have one gallery in the container like this, unless you have multiple galleries -

Thanks for the reply. But this is not the use case I am trying to solve. That issue appears with individual images. I do not use a gallery because I think in the Gallery you can not turn of the lightbox. But I am not sure of that, not behind my computer at the moment.

Also drag and drop the folder from the desktop I know. But what when you want to reorder images and create the folder in Elements?

I got for all of it a work around for now. But it appears to be a bug for me.

Btw. The Gallery in my post is a flex component. I renamed it.

hey @Beblebroks,

It’s nice to see you back, I wondered where you’d gone!

Re you’re image display bug: I’ve just tested this and it appears to work fine…

CleanShot 2025-12-11 at 10 .34.40

Can you share a small sample project that shows the bug via Elements Cloud so we can take a look?

You can drag and drop them inside of the Elements area to re-arrange. It should ALL work, however you want to do it.

Hi @dan,

yes of course it should all work. I am just wondering why I would experience it then. I try to reproduce that error with a small simple sampel. And that seems not to work. (aka all seems to work) …

That means what caused the behavior before? I will send you my current project, since the new sample one seems to behave right

Ok I found the root cause. If the image is in a folder and getting “resized” under image.

The image below shows all those variatians. The drag & drop was also into an image that has been resized.

This one works

This one is a bit tricky. Does not always fail. I got it reproduced after I change from Original to Custom and then try the drag & drop into the image.

downloaded project same happens on my laptop

Just wondering why that comes up now. Those component has been around for quite a while and I did not see anything about this in the forum.

never ever set that setting before

@dan .. did you get that error reproduced?

Also this popped up today. Not sure why. Is also just a basic component.

Plain Text component. Dissapeared again today.

I can replicate if the image is in a subfolder. like your screenshot.

If its just one folder deep, it works as expected.

Elements is creating a copy image at the resolution you set here

For some reason it’s just not liking placing the copy image at the right location when the origonal is two directories deep.

@Beblebroks, Thanks for the sample project, I’ve managed to re-create the issue here, and have added it to our bug tracker to be fixed!
