In this video, Ben says: ‘All these templates are standard components that ship with Elements.’
I don’t have these templates in Elements. How can I get hold of them? Or are there no templates included at all, and is he actually referring to that Essential Pack for an extra $199?
I waited too long - should’ve bought the essentials add on a long time ago
Would have changed how I made websites entirely…
There little niceties inside and properly laid out content
Example: the forms have a green sentence with checkmark when completed correctly or a red colored sentence with a red x if not completed
Plus when the I have read the policy is ticked - it turns blue and stays blue
This is one example
You can of course program all of the above- but they thought it through and made an elegant solution that you just drag in the pack on the side…
I filled in all the host information and dropped it in the panel as a custom ‘pack’.
Now I just drag my custom pack into the website and it’s done . Completely Done… 2 seconds
I don’t doubt the usefulness of the Essential Pack, Michael. It’s certainly practical, especially since the individual components are quite time-consuming to learn due to a lack of detailed descriptions and help texts. While the videos are helpful, they barely scratch the surface of the components. So, with the Essential Pack, I’d essentially be buying a manual and a shortcut to the learning curve for an additional cost—at least for a few things.
There’s a big difference between building a nice website like Ben does in a video using pre-made templates in five minutes, and working on a client project with numerous specifications for how things should look and function. To meet those requirements, I need to understand the full functionality of the components and have access to more complex tools, as I’ve already described with the forms and other features.
A simple example: I haven’t yet figured out how, or even if, I can set up a modal trigger to remain visible on the page (sticky). This also applies to other components that I would need to be able to adjust. But I might start a new thread for my most pressing questions.
Matts if you have a look at my site ezyasabc.co.uk and press the sustainability or the measurment button these are just examples of modals and may help with your question. If you want to be more specific or need help just ask. TIA
Yes there were a few home made HTML bits in my site as I did it before the “real” ones were available. Also loads of snippets from CARTLOOM for the selling shop side. However don’t forget using iFrame you can have an Elements site with your old site bits embedded into it until the masters of creation get the things we need to move away fully from RW of aol.
