I am not sure how other people see that, but for me I normally have a theme and then never switch it because I am working for a specific page. But what I am using a lot is the “Workspace” switch. How about the idea to exchange the “Theme” drop down with a “Saved Workspace” one. Since I can switch the theme within the theme editor.

Workspace I switch multiple times I got like 3:

• Programming
• Fullview (no panels)
• Layout

Please consider adding the ability for the user to assign a custom command-key to a workspace to further improve speedy selection.
